Small Wood Utilization Network (SUN) draws on all of MCDC's business resources, with a special emphasis on Montana's forest product industry. MCDC works with entrepreneurs to develop new products and handling methods for small diameter and underutilized timber. In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, the WBE program connects foresters, loggers, and Montana wood manufacturers to: * Create business opportunities with new wood products * Respond to changing economics in the timber manufacturing sector * Reduce hazardous fuel loads in Montana forests Through the program, MCDC helps catalyze new ideas with product development assistance and demonstration projects. We also can put you in touch with our wide network of timber industry and business professionals. The program also produces the Smallwood Utilization News, an email newsletter devoted to the field.
