Creating an Opportunity Economy
MCDC's strategic plan focuses on building an "opportunity economy,"
one that:
1. Leverages regional strengths to build and extend the relative prosperity
of urban centers throughout the wider region;
2. Emphasizes entrepreneurial capacity at all levels - the individual, the
business, the community and the region. Entrepreneurial capacity is not confined
to the private sector but also marks the public sector and public-private
partnerships.
3. Promotes equity for all residents of the region, emphasizing living-wage
jobs; continual education and career training; and attention to those in the
community who are in need.
Our Mission
MCDC partners with people and communities that want to prosper, providing innovative financing and business development products that create income opportunities for all members of our community.
Our role is to foster a resilient economy that is built on the inherent strengths of the people and the place where we live. Since 1989, MCDC has served hundreds of entrepreneurs with loans, consulting and training. The businesses our clients create help sustain their local communities and provide jobs in Western Montana.
Our primary service area is Missoula, Ravalli, Mineral, Sanders and southern Lake Counties, but we can work with entrepreneurs throughout the state. MCDC is an equal opportunity lender and employer.
